The Senior Database Administrator will be part of CSD team in Pune.
The Role
Reporting to the Development Manager based in Pune, as a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) you will be responsible for instance troubleshooting, tuning using Oracle tools and methodology. You should be thoughtful, fast and participates and contributes to the data model design, troubleshooting performance issues with appropriate methodology, tools and practices and makes recommendations to resolve those.
How You Will Contribute
Every day will be different and varied, though the one thing you can guarantee is that it will be fast paced and always challenging. On any given day you will be expected to undertake responsibilities including:
Use Oracle tuning methodologies and tools for monitoring, diagnosing SQL and Instance performance issues.
Configure and optimize database environment, parameters, ways to reduce database IO waits & CPU consumption for blazing performance.
Monitor and identify problem SQL, diagnose the problem and work with application and development teams to resolve performance issues.
Review and recommend changes to data model if required for performance improvements and scalability of the application.
Understand and recommend industry best practices and standards.
Provide guidance to Product/ Development managers for solution definition, design and development. These are to be delivered as per agreed costs and timescales to meet signed off functional, technical and process requirements.
Address other non-functional requirements like security, scalability for the application.
Publish and maintain high quality documentation for required work. Working within the standard templates and documentation guidelines which include detailed design, configuration details, support procedures, operations manuals and deployment architecture.
Engage with Development Manager through development cycle to mitigate risks to quality and / or program schedule.
Participate with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful program delivery.
Be able to learn and contribute on products involving NoSQL DBs as well e.g. Mongo, GraphDB etc.

We Are Looking For a Star Performer With a Strong Proven Experience As a DBA Who Has The Following
Are you an experienced Senior DBA looking for a new challenge or a you ready to step up to something more senior, then this is the role for you.
Expertise in working with large enterprise applications.
Strong experience in Oracle RAC 12c & proficient in UNIX/Linux environments
Minimum 6+ years of experience in tuning large Oracle databases in a Linux/Unix environment.
Solid understanding of Oracle tuning methodology and use of Oracle tools for monitoring and diagnosing SQL and Instance performance issues.
Experienced in use of statistics, outlines and profiles to influence the optimizer, adding and rebuilding indexes and using SQL Advisor.
Monitor Oracle instance performance using Enterprise Manager and tune instance parameters.
Ensure fast, reliable, secure and easy to manage performance. Optimize database workloads and deliver a higher quality of service.
Must have extensive experience working closely with the Application Development teams.
Understand and recommend industry best practices and standards to ensure performance and reliability of the application
Exposure to source code versioning systems like CVS/SVN, GIT
Awareness of other relational databases e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.
Experience with different development methodologies (RUP | Scrum | XP) Expertise in creating technical documents like Architecture views, Architecture blueprint and Design specification
Good to have â Understanding of NoSQL DBs e.g. Mongo, GraphDB, Parquet etc.
