Online applications are invited for the following Tenure based (Three years) positions to
be appointed in the Centre for Interfaith Studies, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar :
S.No. 2 Deputy Director# The qualifications of Deputy Director will be that of Associate Professor as per “UGC REGULATIONS ON MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS AND OTHER ACADEMIC STAFF IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES AND MEASURES FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION2010” or subsequent regulations adopted by the Government of Punjab from time to time.

Projects: The proposals for projects along with the applications are invited from faculty
members, Ph.D. scholars, Post Graduate Students and eminent persons from the relevant
field for the tenure based (Three years or tenure of project whichever is earlier)
S.No. 1 Director#
The qualifications of Director will be that of Professor as per “UGC REGULATIONS ON MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS AND OTHER ACADEMIC STAFF IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES AND MEASURES FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION-2010” or subsequent regulations adopted by the Government of Punjab from time to time. Experience required : Minimum ten years of experience as a Professor(in the University System) with outstanding contribution to research in field of Interfaith Studies/Religious Studies. a) The remuneration for Faculty members shall be commensurate with the pay scale/grade pay drawn by the applicant in their parent institution, provided the applicant is not being paid by the parent institution(to which he/she belongs to), during the project period offered by Centre for Interfaith Studies. b) For retired personnel, the remuneration shall be fixed on the basis of the last pay drawn minus pension. c) For the positions of Post Doctoral Fellows, the amount of fellowship shall be as per the guidelines of DS Kothari Fellowship as approved by UGC. d) For the positions of Research Fellows, the amount of fellowship shall be as per the guidelines of UGC/JRF rules. e) Apart from the persons belonging to academic/research institutions, the eminent persons from the relevant field engaged in the study and research of any of the areas of specializations as mentioned above, may also apply; however, the remuneration to be paid to them will be decided by the selection committee on the basis of their contribution, experience, quantum and quality of work/research done by them in the concerned area of specialization. f) The tenure of appointment will be subject to the annual performance review of each individual by the Standing Committee. If the performance of the appointed persons is found satisfactory, he/she will be allowed to continue to a maximum of 3 years. However after the expiry of the three years tenure, the candidate can reapply for further appointment as per the laid out procedure.

University System) with outstanding contribution to research in field of
Interfaith Studies/Religious Studies.
#Tenure : Three years. The candidate can reapply after 3 years for afresh appointment as
per laid procedure.
