Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable, friendly, and proactive Education Counsellor to join our academic team. The role of the Education Counsellor is to guide students and parents through the process of making informed decisions about academic programs, courses, and career paths. You will work closely with students to assess their educational backgrounds, interests, strengths, and career goals, and provide appropriate advice and support related to their academic or professional development.
As an Education Counsellor, you will also play a key role in promoting the institution’s programs, managing inquiries, assisting in the admissions process, and providing post-admission support to ensure a smooth transition for students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Counselling and Guidance

Counsel students (and their parents/guardians) about academic programs, courses, colleges, or universities in India and abroad.

Understand each student’s background, academic history, and career aspirations to recommend suitable educational pathways.

Provide personalized counselling sessions—both in person and online.

Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and skills through assessments or questionnaires.
2. Program and Course Promotion

Explain the features, benefits, and requirements of various programs offered by the institute or its partner institutions.

Clarify admission criteria, curriculum structure, duration, fees, scholarships, and post-completion career opportunities.

Maintain an up-to-date understanding of different education systems (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, international universities).

Conduct orientation sessions and webinars to create awareness about programs and courses.
3. Lead Management and Conversion

Handle incoming inquiries via phone, email, website, walk-ins, and social media.

Maintain accurate and updated records of inquiries and leads in the CRM or database system.

Follow up regularly with prospective students to nurture leads and increase admissions conversion rates.

Assist students throughout the admission process, including form filling, document submission, and payment.
4. Documentation and Application Support

Guide students in preparing required documents, including academic transcripts, recommendation letters, statements of purpose, and resumes.

Review and verify academic credentials for eligibility.

Assist with entrance exams, test registration (like IELTS, TOEFL, GRE), and scholarship applications, if applicable.

Provide timely reminders and updates on deadlines, interviews, and important events.
5. Relationship Management

Build rapport with students and parents to provide ongoing support even after admission.

Maintain a student-centric approach and offer unbiased guidance based on individual goals and capabilities.

Liaise with academic departments, universities, or partner organizations regarding admissions, updates, and results.

Ensure a high standard of customer service and student satisfaction.
6. Administrative and Reporting Duties

Maintain records of counselling sessions, student feedback, and admission reports.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to inquiries, conversions, and feedback.

Help in organizing events such as career fairs, college expos, workshops, and open houses.

Support marketing and outreach teams by providing input on student expectations and trends.
