Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Electrical Technician to join our team at our Koyambedu site. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of electrical systems and equipment, with a willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
1. Installation and Commissioning· Install electrical wiring, conduits, lighting, power distribution panels, switches, and sockets as per electrical drawings and site layout.
· Support in installation of transformers, motors, generators, and control panels.
· Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical systems before project handover.
2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting· Perform routine maintenance of electrical systems and identify potential faults.
· Troubleshoot issues in wiring, circuits, or equipment and rectify under supervision.
· Replace damaged or faulty electrical components safely and efficiently.
3. Site Execution Support· Execute electrical work as per engineer’s instructions and project plan.
· Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, standards, and safety regulations.
· Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to avoid service clashes at site.
4. Testing and Quality Control· Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and voltage tests using tools like multimeters and megger.
· Ensure quality of electrical connections, cable terminations, and earthing systems.
· Maintain testing records and report any non-conformities to the site engineer.
5. Safety and Compliance· Follow all electrical and site safety procedures (Lockout–Tagout, PPE usage, etc.).
· Ensure proper isolation before working on live circuits.
· Report unsafe practices or conditions to the supervisor immediately.
6. Documentation and Reporting· Maintain daily work logs of electrical activities and material usage.
· Support in preparing test reports and as-built documentation.
· Assist in tracking and inventory of tools, cables, and electrical materials at site.
7. Team Coordination· Work under supervision of electrical engineers and supervisors.
· Coordinate with other trades (plumbing, HVAC, civil, etc.) to ensure smooth site operations.
· Guide helpers or junior technicians in carrying out basic tasks safely and efficiently.
Required Skills:· Knowledge of single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and circuit connections.
· Ability to use electrical tools and instruments (multimeter, tester, crimping tools, etc.).
· Basic understanding of LV (Low Voltage) systems and safety standards.
· Problem-solving and teamwork skills.
