Job Description
Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively in the classroom, teach English to students from grades 6 to 10, and have at least one year of experience in the education field. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to nurturing students’ language skills, fostering a love for reading and writing, and helping learners build a strong foundation in English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
1. Classroom Instruction

Teach English language and literature to students from classes 6 to 10 following the prescribed curriculum and syllabus.

Deliver clear, engaging, and age-appropriate lessons that cater to varying learning styles and abilities.

Promote reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through a range of classroom activities.

Use storytelling, discussions, group work, and creative writing exercises to enhance student engagement.
2. Communication & Interaction
-
Communicate clearly and confidently in English with students during lessons and class interactions.

Encourage students to express themselves confidently in spoken and written English.

Maintain discipline and a positive, respectful learning environment in the classroom.
3. Lesson Planning & Material Preparation
-
Prepare daily lesson plans, teaching aids, and learning materials in advance.

Align lesson plans with academic objectives and ensure the progression of learning across terms.

Use teaching tools such as audio-visual aids, worksheets, and digital resources where appropriate.
4. Student Assessment & Evaluation
-
Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and exams to monitor student progress.

Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.

Maintain student records, track academic performance, and submit regular reports to the Head of Department.
5. Parent & Staff Communication
-
Participate in parent-teacher meetings to discuss students’ academic development and address concerns.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff for school events, academic planning, and cross-subject integration.

Maintain open communication with school administrators regarding class performance, challenges, or requirements.
6. Professional Development & School Activities
-
Stay updated with current teaching methodologies, curriculum changes, and education trends.

Participate in teacher training programs, workshops, and school development activities.

Support school functions, extracurricular activities, and academic competitions when needed.
Skills & Qualifications
Educational Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (B.Ed. preferred).

Certification or training in English teaching is an added advantage.
Experience
-
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a school or academic institution, preferably handling classes 6 to 10.

Experience with CBSE, ICSE, or state board curriculum is desirable.
Core Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to simplify complex concepts and engage students in learning.

Basic computer literacy and ability to use digital teaching tools (Google Classroom, MS Office, etc.).
