Science and Technology Park, Pune is one of the Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEPs) set up in the year 1986, by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, within the campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University. A not for profit Trust & Society.

The mission of Science and Technology Park (Scitech Park) is to “Convert Knowledge into Wealth”.

The Scitech Park facilitates IPR and Technology management, Industry sponsored research, providing technology inputs for various governmental and industrial developmental projects. Development of new technologies and its commercialization and provides need based high end training.

The Scitech Park is a prime center on the campus of university to promote techno-preneurs by way of entrepreneurship awareness and training, technology development and incubation of hi-tech start-ups. The Scitech Park Business Incubator called “Growth Lab” provides unique opportunities for technology trained youth, who have fire in the belly, to become successful entrepreneurs by providing them well planned hand holding and grooming and also provides access to finance. Through the program of Business Incubation the Park has brought into market several break-through and innovative products. So far through its incubation program, the Park has groomed 97 start-ups.

Recently, understanding the need for bridging developmental gap between urban and rural, Scitech Park is setting up social ventures by way of establishment of Rural Technology Business Incubator. This facility will work on establishment of sustainable technology based ventures, to alleviate lives of the people who are at the bottom of economic pyramid.

Scitech Park is well recognized across India and abroad and has received several recognitions.
