Field Researcher/Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Zoology candidate to join our team for management of stray dogs with corporates and local bodies. This position involve field and office work which includes survey, vaccination, shelter management, dog training, coordination with caregivers and public using dedicated animal safety App and AI web platform. The candidate can combine their zoological knowledge with strong outreach and communication skills to improve the welfare of stray dogs. The role requires good organizational and communication skills, as well as a passion for animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
To undertake survey of stray dogs
To work with NGOs, Municipal corporations during vaccination campaigns
To work with animal shelters on implementation of stray dog management platform
To conduct outreach activities to promote the use of App for reporting, rescuing and tracking stray dogs.
To collaborate with NGOs, Animal Welfare Groups, caregivers and Municipal Corporations to encourage the App &platform adoption.
To collect and analyze data and offer suggestions for improvement of operations
To train the shelter staff and volunteers on the use of animal safety App and web platform.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science or Environmental Science.
Prior 1-2 years’ experience in animal care, shelter operations or a related field will be preferred
Experience with dog behaviour, training and basic veterinary care is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and with a diverse group of people, including volunteers, staff and community members.
Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to improving the lives of animals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Comfort working with animals, including handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
Comfortable using digital tools and mobile applications.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
