Field Service Engineer Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our various products and equipment directly at customer’s sites.
Field Service Engineer responsibilities include diagnosing technical problems, performing effective repairs, and providing regular service maintenance.
They should be able to communicate and explain complex technical information to non-technical customers in an understandable way.
The role of the Field Service Engineer is to ensure customer satisfaction through the high-quality service and efficient problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation & Commissioning:

Travel to customer sites to install, assemble, configure, and test equipment or systems.

Follow engineering guidelines and safety protocols during installation.

Coordinate with the project or service team to ensure smooth commissioning of new units.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair:
-
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or software issues with faulty equipment.

Perform on-site repairs using appropriate tools, testing equipment, and spare parts.

Collaborate with in-house engineering or R&D teams for complex issues.
3. Preventive Maintenance:

Conduct scheduled maintenance visits to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime.

Perform system checks, calibrations, cleaning, and component replacements.

Maintain logs and service records for each piece of equipment.
4. Technical Support & Training:

Provide technical assistance and user training to operators, technicians, or customer personnel.

Explain proper usage, safety measures, and basic troubleshooting techniques to end-users.

Maintain professional and courteous interactions at all times.
5. Documentation & Reporting:

Complete detailed service reports, job cards, checklists, and feedback forms after each visit.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, travel expenses, and customer feedback.

Update internal systems or CRM tools with service data.
6. Quality & Compliance:

Adhere to company and industry standards, safety procedures, and customer SLAs.

Escalate critical issues or unresolved faults to senior engineers or supervisors.

Maintain tools, testing devices, and company assets in good working condition.
7. Inventory & Resource Handling:

Manage and track spare parts inventory assigned for field operations.
-
Request restocking or replacements in a timely manner to avoid delays.

Follow proper storage, usage, and return processes for all tools and materials.
