Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Fire Safety Engineer to join our team. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding lives, property, and the environment by designing, reviewing, and implementing fire protection systems and strategies. The Fire Safety Engineer will assess risks, ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, and develop customized solutions to mitigate fire hazards in buildings and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fire dynamics, engineering principles, building codes, and materials science, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Working closely with architects, construction teams, regulatory authorities, and clients, the Fire Safety Engineer will help ensure all projects meet the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Fire Risk Assessment: Conduct detailed fire risk assessments for various facilities, including residential, commercial, industrial, and public-use buildings.

Design Fire Protection Systems: Develop fire safety strategies and design fire suppression systems such as sprinklers, alarms, smoke control systems, and emergency lighting.

Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs, plans, and strategies comply with national and international fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, BS 9999, ISO, local building codes).

Collaboration: Work with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and building owners during all phases of a project—from concept and design through to construction and post-occupancy.

Plan Review: Review and approve architectural and engineering plans for fire safety adequacy; recommend changes as needed to meet code or best practices.

Fire Modeling and Simulations: Utilize fire simulation software (e.g., PyroSim, FDS, Pathfinder) to model smoke spread, occupant evacuation, and fire growth scenarios.

Inspection and Testing: Perform inspections of new and existing buildings to verify installation and functionality of fire protection systems. Oversee fire safety system testing and commissioning.

Incident Investigation: In cases of fire incidents, participate in post-incident reviews and forensic investigations to determine causes and recommend future improvements.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, fire engineering strategies, safety plans, and compliance documents for clients, contractors, and authorities.

Training and Education: Provide fire safety training and briefings to construction teams, building management staff, and other stakeholders as necessary.

Stay Informed: Keep up to date with advances in fire engineering, new regulations, materials, and technologies related to fire safety.
