We are looking for a skilled and dependable Four-Wheeler Mechanic to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of four-wheeled vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to customers.
Position Overview:
As a Four-Wheeler Mechanic, you will handle routine servicing, troubleshooting, part replacements, and major mechanical repairs of four-wheeled vehicles. The role demands thorough knowledge of engine systems, braking systems, suspension, electrical wiring, and diagnostics. You will also interact with service advisors and customers to understand vehicle issues and ensure timely completion of work.
Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Diagnosis

Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical, electrical, or technical faults using manual checks or diagnostic tools.

Interpret diagnostic codes and manufacturer data to understand and locate issues.

Communicate findings with service advisors or supervisors for repair planning.

Maintenance and Repairs

Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacement, tire rotation, and brake inspections.

Repair or replace faulty components in the engine, transmission, suspension, cooling, steering, and exhaust systems.

Carry out repairs on clutch systems, gearboxes, differentials, and drive shafts.

Repair or replace braking components, including pads, rotors, calipers, and fluid lines.

Electrical and Electronic Systems

Diagnose and repair electrical issues related to lights, battery, starter, alternator, sensors, and vehicle control units.

Install and troubleshoot vehicle electronics such as audio systems, security alarms, power windows, and AC units.

Testing and Quality Control

Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure the issues are resolved and the vehicle performs optimally.

Use tools such as multimeters, scan tools, and hydraulic lifts safely and efficiently.

Ensure completed repairs meet safety and quality standards.

Customer Interaction and Documentation

Communicate repair findings, costs, and timelines with service advisors or customers as needed.

Provide honest and professional recommendations on repairs, parts, and future maintenance.

Document all work done, parts used, and issues found in service reports or job cards.

Tool and Workshop Maintenance

Keep personal and shared tools clean, organized, and in good working condition.

Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the workshop environment.

Report any faulty equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with other technicians, mechanics, and service advisors.

Assist in training junior mechanics or apprentices when required.

Attend technical training and workshops to stay updated with modern vehicle technology.

Skills and Qualifications:

ITI certificate or diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant trade certification.

Experience in vehicle servicing and repair; dealership or authorized service center experience is preferred.

Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, vehicle systems, and modern automotive technologies.

Familiarity with diagnostic tools, hydraulic lifts, torque wrenches, and other garage equipment.

Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physically fit and able to lift heavy parts, work in tight spaces, and operate power tools.

Basic computer skills to use diagnostic tools and update job cards (where required).
