Research Fellowship Scheme conducts Goa State AIDS Control Society on contract basis
Qualification: PG Students enrolled for full-time MD/MPhil/PhD degree program in relevant disciplines from any recognised Indian University/Institute. Selection Criteria The selection of the candidates for award of research fellowship will be done after technical evaluation of the research plan by the panel of subject experts.
Age: Below 35 years as on 31st December 2016.
Applications received will be assessed based on the following parameters: Relevance to NACP IV strategies. Innovation. Methodology and study design. Academic achievement of the candidate.
No.of Fellowships: NACO will award up to 20 Fellowships per year for financial assistance.
Fellowships: The maximum grant for each fellowship will be limited upto Rs 1.5 lakhs. The fellowship covers stipend (for 12 months@Rs 10,000=Rs. 1,20,000) and contingent expenditure on transport/travel, stationery, preparation of report, consumables, printing etc (Rs. 30,000/-). Applicants getting stipend from any Institution/UGC/CSIR/other source are eligible for contingency only.

About Company
The HIV/AIDS Control activities in Goa, commenced way back in 1984 with surveillance done amongst High Risk Groups through Directorate of Health Services. The Health Education Bureau at the Directorate of Health Services was the Nodal Agency for all the Programme activities. In 1986-87, when the first HIV case came to light, the STD Control Programme at the Directorate of Health Services coordinated all the activities, which finally led to the creation of AIDS Cell at the Directorate of Health Services.
