Housekeeping Staff - Nalpada
Job Description
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, emergency rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to hospital protocols.

Replace linens, empty trash containers, and replenish supplies.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors using appropriate cleaning equipment.

Handle hazardous materials and medical waste according to safety standards.

Follow infection control procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Restock soap, towels, toilet paper, and other hygiene supplies.

Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, lights out) to the appropriate department.

Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to coordinate cleaning schedules.

Adhere to hospital safety, security, and health policies.

Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper storage and inventory of supplies.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitization

Clean and disinfect patient rooms, beds, wards, ICUs, operation theaters, and common areas.

Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, and scrubbing in all hospital areas as per assigned schedules.

Ensure restrooms and toilets are cleaned, sanitized, and replenished with supplies regularly.

Handle medical waste and general waste as per biohazard disposal protocols.

Use hospital-grade disinfectants, cleaning agents, and PPE while cleaning high-risk areas.
Support Services
-
Assist in changing bed linens, curtains, and sanitizing patient furniture.

Maintain cleanliness in staff lounges, waiting rooms, staircases, lifts, and corridors.

Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaky taps, broken tiles) to the housekeeping supervisor.
Infection Control & Safety
-
Follow infection control protocols set by the hospital’s infection control committee.

Wear gloves, masks, and protective gear when handling contaminated items.

Clean spillages and hazardous waste safely using prescribed methods.
-
Ensure equipment such as cleaning trolleys and machines are in good working condition.
