Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Data Specialist
you will be responsible for Identifying, gathering, and analysing complex, multi-dimensional datasets utilizing a variety of tools (i.e., Excel, PowerBI, Cognos, SQL, R, etc).
Using industry technologies, tools and data mining frameworks for data analytics including data visualization for analysing and drawing conclusions.
Working with clients in defining the key business problems to be solved while developing, maintaining, and leveraging key client relationships.
Maintaining knowledge and understanding of current and emerging trends within the analytics industry.
Responsibilities but not limited to:

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Data Specialist
you will be responsible for Identifying, gathering, and analysing complex, multi-dimensional datasets utilizing a variety of tools (i.e., Excel, PowerBI, Cognos, SQL, R, etc).
Using industry technologies, tools and data mining frameworks for data analytics including data visualization for analysing and drawing conclusions.
Working with clients in defining the key business problems to be solved while developing, maintaining, and leveraging key client relationships.
Maintaining knowledge and understanding of current and emerging trends within the analytics industry.
Responsibilities but not limited to:
As a Data Specialist / Analyst will work within the TA Metrics and Analytics team within HR. This person will also collaborate closely with client teams, such as other TA teams in IBM HR.
- Work collaboratively with other groups within the company and apply insights to make complex and strategic decisions
- Providing support to HR professionals who need to access HR and TA data (e.g. Access administration, Query development and trouble-shooting, One-to-One Cognos training, Workday reporting support)
- Perform data analysis with a maniacal focus on generating actionable insights
- Sourcing and formatting of HR data from various HR databases using the Cognos and Analytical tool/s
- Preparation and presentation of regular and ad-hoc workforce reports incorporating key metrics such as headcount, hiring, attrition plus focus areas such as diversity, Referrals, etc. to support strategic initiatives of the global team using Excel and PowerPoint
- Create forecast models such as hiring outlook for future etc.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum 4-8 years of experience in Data Analytics – R (good to have), SQL database (must have) and Python (good to have)
- Good to have: Minimum 2+ years of experience in web programming language (preferably Reactjs)
- Communication skills: Expert Level
- MS PowerPoint: Expert Level
- Cognos Report Studio / Query Studio: Basic Level
- MS Excel: Expert
- MS Excel Pivot Tables and Charts: Expert
- MS Excel VBA: Expert
- Exposure to unstructured data sets
- Knowledge and experience on any analytical tool (SPSS, R, BI solutions)
- Consulting Skills
- Leadership Skills Should be passionate about trends in data analytics, such as new visualization tools, and trends in TA technology, such as new recruiting platforms.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 4 years of experience in statistical analysis and deploying the results of the analysis
- At least 4 years of experience in data collection/data mining/text mining
- Experience in working with cross functional teams or project management
- Exposure to unstructured data sets
