Job Description
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) invites application for the position Post Doctoral Fellowship
Project: “Environmental management of water bodies through waste algal biomass-based energy production and greenhouse gas mitigation”.
Essential qualifications: Ph.D degree in Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Engineering, Biogas Technology, Algal Bioprocessing, Environmental Management of Water bodies or related fields with a research background in the areas related to the project
Desirable qualifications:
i. At least 02 SCI papers as first (or corresponding) author based on the Ph.D. research work
ii. 1–2 years’ experience in biogas, algal blooms and wastewater management, environmental management of water bodies or related areas
iii. Should have hands-on experience in handling the microbial cultures and water samples
Candidates who have recently submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they should furnish the proof of the award of Ph.D. degree at the time of interview at IIT Roorkee if shortlisted
Duration and Fellowship amount:
i. The duration of the fellowship will be 2 years extendable by one more year. The Fellowship may be terminated by either side by giving one-month notice.
ii. A consolidated fellowship of Rs. 55,000.00 per month for the first 2 years and Rs. 60,000.00 per month for the third year and a contingency of Rs. 50,000.00 per annum will be awarded to Post-Doctoral Fellows.
