Online applications are invited from eligible young, bright and highly motivated individuals for the following position to work for the STU Project:

1. Name of the position : Project Engineer-I (Mechanical Engineering)

2. No. of position : One

3. Remuneration : Rs. 75,000/- per month (Consolidated)

4. Place of Posting : Bengaluru

5,. Educational Qualification & Experience : 

i. Full-time post graduate degree in M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) specialisation in Design / Manufacturing Engineering with minimum 1 year of experience* and 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade from a reputed and recognized University/ Institution. OR

ii. B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) with minimum 3 years experience in the field of design/ manufacturing engineering and with 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade from a reputed and recognized University/ Institution.

iii. Candidates with higher qualification in relevant field and experience will also be considered.

6. Field of experience:

a) Essential: Experience in designing optomechanical systems of astronomical instruments for space applications. Hands on experience in CAD and FE tools NX Nastran, Hyperworks to generate solid and FE models, assemblies. Expertise in FE analysis for dynamic load spectrums.

ii. Expertise in Thermo elastic analysis, nonlinear and transient thermal dynamics. Hands on experience in opto-mechanical modelling and analysis to check and correct the optical aberrations is essential. Knowledge of MATLAB is also essential.

b) Desirable: Opto-mechanical instrumentation, expertise in CAE packages like Solid works, Ansys and Inventor. Programming knowledge in MATLAB, good in documentation and good communication skill.

7. Nature of Job : To be a part of instrument design and development team that handles design, fabrication, calibration and testing for ground and space-based astronomy experiments. Candidate should not have any objection to travel to field stations of IIA when required.
