Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. AV System Installation:
-
Install and mount AV equipment including displays, projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, video conferencing systems, and control panels.

Run, terminate, and label all necessary cabling including HDMI, VGA, CAT6, speaker wire, fiber optics, and control cables.

Configure and calibrate AV systems including audio tuning, video alignment, and network integration.
2. Site Preparation and Layout Execution:
-
Review project blueprints, layout diagrams, and schematics prior to installation.
-
Prepare installation sites by assembling equipment racks, mounting hardware, and structural supports.

Ensure all mounting and equipment installations comply with safety standards and client specifications.
3. System Integration and Configuration:
-
Integrate AV systems with control platforms (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX, URC).
-
Configure hardware settings, software updates, and network protocols for devices such as video conferencing systems (Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, Polycom).
-
Load control system programs and test user interfaces to ensure seamless operation.
4. Troubleshooting and Testing:
-
Perform system testing, signal tracing, and troubleshooting to verify full functionality of AV installations.

Identify and resolve connectivity, synchronization, or calibration issues on-site.
-
Provide support during commissioning and ensure all systems meet performance and quality standards.
5. Client Interaction and Support:
-
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and site contacts during installation.
-
Provide brief system orientations or user demonstrations to clients if required.

Address client concerns or last-minute adjustments with flexibility and professionalism.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain accurate documentation of installed systems, cabling routes, device serial numbers, and configuration settings.

Complete daily job sheets, installation checklists, and site reports.

Provide feedback to project managers on any deviations, missing components, or change orders.
7. Equipment and Inventory Management:
-
Ensure tools, test equipment, and installation materials are maintained and transported properly.
-
Track usage and report inventory of cables, connectors, brackets, and AV accessories.

Handle equipment responsibly and ensure systems are protected from damage during installation.
8. Compliance and Safety:
-
Follow all electrical, construction, and site-specific safety protocols.
-
Ensure installations comply with industry standards and local regulations.
-
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required and maintain a clean and safe work area.
