Job Summary:
The IT Sales Executive is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities related to IT products and services. This includes software solutions, cloud services, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, SaaS, and enterprise-level applications. The role involves working with both new and existing clients to understand their technology needs and offer appropriate solutions.
This position requires a balance of strong technical understanding, communication skills, and a sales-driven mindset to successfully represent the organization’s IT offerings and exceed sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:

Identify and target potential business clients through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and online research.

Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of leads across sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, education, finance, retail, etc.

Attend industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions to generate and nurture business opportunities.
2. Client Engagement & Needs Assessment:

Connect with decision-makers (IT Managers, CTOs, Procurement Heads) to understand their current IT landscape, pain points, and technology goals.

Conduct discovery calls or product demos in collaboration with technical teams if required.

Provide accurate product information and consultative solutions based on client requirements.
3. Proposal & Sales Closure:

Prepare and present customized proposals, quotations, and service offerings tailored to client needs.

Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and delivery timelines while adhering to company policies.

Close deals and ensure proper handover to the project or delivery team for execution.
4. Account Management & Client Retention:

Maintain long-term relationships with key accounts by providing after-sales support and regular check-ins.

Upsell and cross-sell new products or services to existing clients to expand account value.

Track renewals, license upgrades, AMC contracts, and service extensions.
5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

Work closely with pre-sales consultants, solution architects, and the technical support team for project feasibility assessments.

Coordinate with the marketing department for campaign execution, digital lead nurturing, and branding initiatives.

Collaborate with the finance and operations team for invoice processing, payment follow-ups, and service delivery alignment.
6. Sales Reporting & Forecasting:

Maintain detailed records of leads, interactions, proposals, and deal progress in the CRM system.

Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports showing pipeline status, closed deals, lost opportunities, and projections.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform strategic planning.
