Job Description

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata intends to engage three Junior Marine Engineers and one Junior Electrical Engineer on contract basis, in Marine Department initially for three years for which applications are invited from eligible candidates:

1. Name of the Post: Junior Marine Engineer

2. Full time apprenticeship in an approved Marine workshop and simultaneous attendance to an approved course of Engineering in a Technical School & passing out requisite examination as required for Diploma of the School. Apprentices from marine workshop who are eligible to appear in Class IV Part 'A' Engineer's Examination of MOT and candidates with equivalent training and experience from the Indian Navy.
3. Desirable: Sea going experience or with practical experience on Diesel or Class IV Part 'B' certificate.

Age Limit:
Not Exceeding 50 years

1. Name of the Post: Junior Electrical Engineer

2. Essential: (i) 5 years apprenticeship training in any approved Electrical Engineering Workshop and approved course of study in Electrical Engineering in a technical school. (ii) Must have also passed Electrical Supervisors' Examinations. (iii) At least 5 years experience in repair of Electrical Machinery on board the vessels. Preference to candidates having experience in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.
Desirable : Sea going experience.
