Jr. Research Fellowship - Research jobs opportunity in IIT Kharagpur
Project Title: Impact of Climate Change on Flow and Sediment in Rivers of eastern India(CFI)
Junior Research Fellowship - Research/ Vacancies: 1 post
Department/School/Centre: School of Water Resources
Qualifications: i. M. Tech. in Water Resources, Civil Engineering or M. Scour. in Hydrology, Geography, River Basin Management from recognized universities/ institutions of repute and consistently good academic report with a minimum 8.0 CGPA and valid GATE/NET score ii. Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS
iii. Minimum 1 year of working experience in research or consultancy projects using the following : remote sensing tools (for example, Sentinel Toolbox or Erdas Imagine), GIS platform (for example on QGIS or ArcGIS), 1D flow modeling software (HEC-RAS-1D, MIKE-1D) , 2D flood modelling software (HEC-RAS-2D, MIKE-2D) and Catchment modeling software (HEC-HMS/GeoHMS, SWAT). iv. Excellent communication skills, both speaking and writing.
Relevant Experience: i. Proven leadership and time management skills for leading the interns or project assistants
ii. Knowledge of academic writing for publications in peer reviewed journals
iii. Previous experience of field visits for primary data collection Sponsor Department of Science & Technology(DST)(Government of India,Ministry of Science & Technology,Department of Science & Technology, Technology Bhavan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110 016).
Consolidated Compensation Upto : Rs.25000
ii. Knowledge of academic writing for publications in peer reviewed journals
