Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under DST/GITA sponsored project

Indian Centre for Space Physics (ICSP) invites application from the candidates having NET (excluding LS) / GATE with M.Sc.(at-least 55% marks) in Physics for the positions of the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in project funded by DST / GITA (project number: GITA/DST/TWN/P-76/2017).

N.B. : B.E / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech are not eligible.

DST/GITA Project -- This is an India-Taiwan scientific co-operation project under Global Innovation & Technology Alliance (GITA), DST./ 1 JRF Position

The fellowship tenure will be three years duration.

The students will mainly work on observational studies of stellar mass black holes using archival data (mainly in X-ray band) of various present and past astronomical satellites, including India's first multi-wavelength astronomy satellite ASTROSAT. They will also work on theoretical aspects to improve our existing theoretical model on black hole accretion, namely two-component advective flow model.

ICSP will invite (by email) the short-listed candidates for the personal interview. Candidates should bring all original credentials and hard copy of their curriculum-vitae. The selected candidates will work under the joint supervision of Dr. Dipak Debnath and Prof. Sandip K. Chakrabarti to complete their Ph.D. Degree.

CSIR (NET) scholars can also directly carry out PhD programme here. It is an autonomous body, recognized by the Calcutta University. Presently, students working towards PhD are taken. However, MSc students do carry out projects also.
