Location: Andheri - East, Mumbai
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in day-to-day accounting operations, proficiency in accounting software, and in-depth knowledge of GST filing and import-export regulations, particularly within the jewellery industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
2. Utilize accounting software to record and process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
3. Prepare and file GST returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Stay updated on import-export regulations related to the jewellery industry and ensure adherence to customs and trade laws.
5. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
6. Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
7. Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
8. Maintain documentation and records in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
9. Handle any other accounting-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the jewellery industry. Minimum of two years experience.
3. Strong understanding of day-to-day accounting principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP.
5. Thorough knowledge of GST filing procedures and regulations.
6. Familiarity with import-export rules and procedures, particularly in the context of the jewellery sector.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Professional certification such as CA, CS or other courses
2. Prior experience working with jewellery manufacturers, wholesalers, or retailers.
3. Familiarity with industry-specific accounting practices and terminology.
