Job Description

National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow

Project Title: Development of novel B and C modified fillers for the gas tungsten arc welding of Ti alloys

Duration: Two years from the date of joining (extendable until the end of project)

Essential Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ or equivalent degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering/Mechanical Engineering & M.E./M.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and related specializations with minimum 60% aggregate marks (CGPA>=6.5/10) in UG & PG to qualify under OC/OBC category and minimum 55% aggregate marks (CGPA>=6.0) for candidates under SC/ST/PwD category. Note: GATE score is mandatory.

Desired Qualifications: Prior knowledge of welding and joining of metals and understanding of Phase Diagrams, welding metallurgy.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- per month for two years & Rs. 35,000/- per month for third year

HRA/ Accommodation: HRA as per provision. The selected candidate is also eligible for on-campus Hostel & Mess facilities, subject to availability.

Job Nature: Candidate is expected to prepare fillers for gas tungsten arc welding process, prepare welds, characterise the welds for microstructure and mechanical properties and prepare reports.

Other Benefits: The selected candidates are eligible to register for PhD degree at NIT, Warangal as per institute rules. However, s(he) needs to apply for PhD position when the advertisement is open.
