Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Classroom Instruction & Child Development

Plan and deliver engaging lessons based on foundational subjects such as language, mathematics, science, art, music, and physical activity.

Use play-based learning methods to encourage exploration and creativity.

Introduce early reading and writing concepts through phonics, stories, and visual aids.

Foster basic numeracy through fun activities involving counting, shapes, and problem-solving.

Monitor each child’s developmental milestones, including cognitive, physical, emotional, and social skills.
2. Curriculum Planning and Implementation
-
Design weekly and monthly lesson plans aligned with national or school-specific early childhood education standards.

Integrate multiple learning modalities to support varied learning styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

Organize thematic units around seasons, holidays, animals, and cultural concepts to make learning relatable and enjoyable.

Modify curriculum and teaching methods for students with special educational needs or language barriers.
3. Classroom Management and Environment

Establish and maintain a warm, positive, and organized classroom environment.

Encourage good hygiene, etiquette, sharing, and respect for others.

Set age-appropriate expectations and use positive reinforcement to guide behavior.

Supervise children during all classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and field trips.
4. Communication and Parent Engagement

Maintain regular communication with parents through meetings, progress reports, emails, and newsletters.

Discuss student progress, achievements, and concerns while collaborating on strategies for continued growth.

Involve parents in classroom activities, special days, and school events.
5. Assessment and Reporting

Conduct ongoing informal assessments through observation, activities, and interactions.

Maintain individual student records including attendance, academic progress, and behavioral development.

Prepare term-end reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.

Identify early signs of learning difficulties, speech delays, or behavioral challenges and refer to specialists when necessary.
6. Team Collaboration

Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and professional development programs.

Collaborate with co-teachers, assistants, school counselors, and administrators to create an effective learning environment.

Contribute to the planning of school events such as annual functions, celebrations, and exhibitions.
