Job Description
Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory tests and analyses.
Collect, label, and prepare biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) or chemical samples.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Record and analyze data with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality control, and standard operating procedures.
Maintain detailed records of all tests performed and results obtained.
Manage inventory of lab supplies and order materials when needed.
Support senior scientists or laboratory supervisors in ongoing projects or experiments.
Dispose of biohazardous and chemical waste safely and according to guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performing Laboratory Tests:

Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures on patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) as per physician requests.

Ensure tests are performed in accordance with established protocols and procedures.

Process samples, prepare reagents, and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy in results.
2. Analyzing and Interpreting Results:

Analyze test results and prepare reports for physicians and medical staff to assist in diagnosis.

Review results for any abnormalities or inconsistencies and notify the medical staff immediately.

Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, results, and any corrective actions taken.
3. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:

Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and regular cleaning of laboratory equipment and instruments.

Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the appropriate staff for repairs or replacements.

Maintain an inventory of lab supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are stocked and available.
4. Sample Collection and Processing:

Collect and label patient samples in accordance with hospital policies and ensure proper handling during transportation to the lab.

Prepare and process samples for analysis while following infection control guidelines and maintaining the integrity of samples.
5. Quality Control and Assurance:

Perform routine quality control tests to ensure the accuracy and reliability of lab results.

6. Health and Safety Compliance:
