Maintenance Technician Jobs Opening in CURRENT ELECTRO MECH at Erode
Job Description
Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and minor PLC issues.
Maintain records of maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Coordinate with the operations team to minimise downtime.
Install and test new machinery as needed.
Monitor inventory of tools and spare parts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems such as HVAC, pumps, lighting, plumbing, electrical panels, generators, and fire safety systems.

Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns or equipment failures.

Maintain logs and documentation of all preventive maintenance activities.
2. Repair and Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely manner.

Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic devices, and manuals to resolve problems efficiently.

Replace or repair faulty components such as switches, motors, belts, bearings, valves, and pipes.
3. Facility Maintenance:

Ensure that common areas, offices, restrooms, and other facility spaces are functional and well-maintained.

Handle minor construction, painting, drywall repair, carpentry, or masonry work as needed.

Maintain building access systems, doors, locks, and security fixtures.
4. Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain production or service equipment in manufacturing or commercial settings.
-
Assist in calibration, testing, and monitoring of machine performance.

Ensure all machinery meets operational and safety standards.
5. Safety and Compliance:

Follow all company policies and safety procedures, including wearing PPE (personal protective equipment).

Identify and report safety hazards or code violations.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical, fire, and local building codes.
6. Emergency Response:

Respond to maintenance emergencies (equipment breakdowns, power failures, water leaks, etc.).

Troubleshoot urgent facility issues and escalate when necessary to senior technicians or contractors.

Be available for on-call duties, overtime, or weekend shifts when required.
7. Inventory and Recordkeeping:

Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and spare parts inventory.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, equipment performance, and maintenance logs.

Assist in ordering and sourcing tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
8. Team Collaboration:

Work closely with facility managers, machine operators, housekeeping, and vendors.

Assist external contractors and technicians during specialized maintenance or installations.
-
Attend team meetings and provide updates on pending or completed tasks.
