Job Description
Supervise daily routines, hygiene, and general conduct of residents/students
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of the living quarters or dormitories
Monitor health, wellbeing, and personal hygiene of those in her care
Coordinate with healthcare providers or parents/guardians in case of illness or emergencies
Manage inventory and supplies such as toiletries, bedding, and basic medical items
Maintain discipline and resolve minor disputes or conflicts
Assist in organizing daily schedules, meal times, and recreational activities
Provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship when needed
Keep accurate records of incidents, health reports, and attendance (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Supervision and Leadership

Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff across departments.

Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and ensure appropriate staffing levels across shifts.

Conduct regular meetings and briefings with nurses to discuss patient care standards, updates, and address concerns.

Participate in the recruitment, training, orientation, and professional development of nursing staff.

Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and accountability.
2. Patient Care Management

Ensure that patients receive compassionate, safe, and effective care in accordance with hospital standards.

Monitor patient satisfaction, respond to complaints, and take corrective actions when necessary.

Coordinate with doctors, specialists, and other medical staff to support continuity of care.

Oversee the implementation of patient care plans and ensure adherence to treatment protocols.
3. Administrative and Operational Duties

Maintain accurate records of staffing, patient care activities, and inventory.

Ensure that wards and nursing stations are adequately equipped and maintained.

Prepare duty rosters, manage leaves and attendance, and ensure smooth shift transitions.

Participate in audits, inspections, and policy formulation to enhance service quality.
4. Infection Control and Hygiene

Enforce strict infection prevention and control measures in line with hospital and government guidelines.

Conduct regular hygiene inspections in wards, operation theaters, and common areas.

Educate staff on hygiene practices and ensure adherence to cleanliness protocols.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance
-
Monitor nursing practices to ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and institutional standards.

Conduct internal audits and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Stay updated with nursing regulations and advise the hospital administration on required improvements.

Report incidents, accidents, or policy violations and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
6. Communication and Coordination
-
Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and hospital administration.

Ensure effective communication among nursing teams, medical personnel, and administrative departments.

Attend and represent the nursing team in management meetings, strategy sessions, and interdepartmental briefings.
