Job Overview

An MEP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing MEP systems in construction projects. The role involves ensuring efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective building services while complying with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Planning

Develop and review MEP designs, layouts, and blueprints.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Select materials, equipment, and specifications based on project requirements.

2. Installation & Coordination

Oversee the installation of mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration.
Troubleshoot design conflicts and provide solutions for on-site challenges.

3. Compliance & Quality Control

Ensure MEP systems comply with local building codes and safety regulations.
Conduct inspections and performance tests to verify system functionality.
Address environmental and sustainability concerns in MEP design.

4. Project Management & Documentation

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Maintain records of MEP designs, approvals, and modifications.
Provide periodic reports and updates to senior management.

5. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Oversee system commissioning and post-installation maintenance.
Identify and resolve operational issues in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Train maintenance staff on proper system usage and upkeep.
