Job Description
Scientist ‘B’ (Statistics) Job position in National Institute of Epidemiology
Essential qualification & Experience: First Class Master’s degree in Statistics from a recognized university. Or Second class M.Sc.in Statistics + Ph.D. in Statistics from a recognized University.
Desirable qualifications: (i) Doctorate in Statistics from a recognised University. (ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in Statistics in recognized institute(s) (iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/ Data Management. (iv) Two years R & D in health research / Teaching experience in Statistics after obtaining essential qualification.

Age Limit : 35 years
Job Requirement: (i) Analyze and interpret large databases including census, National Sample Surveys. (ii) Work with Statistical / epidemiological packages like SPSS / SAS or STATA and EPIINFO / Open epi etc. (iii) Conduct training programmes for statisticians and non-statisticians on basic and advanced statistical methods. (iv) Provide guidance to colleagues and collaborators on study design, sampling, analysis and interpretation of study findings and write scientific reports.
