Applications are invited to attend Interview (in-person/ online) for the following posts under DB T funded network project "Development of superior haplotype based near isogenic lines (Ilaplo-NILs) for enhanced genetic gain in rice" for a period up to Feb. 2023 and project entitled

i. Development of amaranth core collection using SSR and SNP markers and evaluation of core set for nutritional, yield traits and abiotic stress tolerance for period up to March 2024 at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi. The positions are of temporary nature and co-terminus with the project.

i. Project title: Development of amaranth core collection using SSR and SNP markers and evaluation of core set for nutritional, yield traits and abiotic stress tolerance.

1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (01)

2. Salary: Rs. 31000/- + 24% HRA

3. Essential Qualification:

i. MSc Plant Biotechnology/Agricultural Botany/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/Plant Sciences with specialization in Genetics/ Molecular biology/Biotechnology with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's degree.

ii. Candidates with 3 years Bachelor's degree should have professional Master's degree (3 years) and those with 2 years Master's degree should have qualified NET/national level test (As per ICAR office memorandum (F. No. Agril Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD Dated 9th October, 2015)

4. Nature of Duties: Application of molecular markers in core development/field evaluation for agro-morphological traits and abiotic stress

In an unprecedented initiative, NBPGR, for the first time, has characterized and evaluated (preliminary) entire germplasm of wheat (22000 accessions comprising T. aestivum, T. durum and T. dicoccum) conserved in the National Genebank, at three locations in during Rabi 2011-12. At CCS HAU, Hisar, the wheat accessions have been characterized under optimum conditions. Data on 32 agro-morphological characters are used to develop a core-set.
