Key Responsibilities
1. Hospital Operations & Administration
-
Supervise overall hospital functioning during the night shift.

Ensure all departments (nursing, housekeeping, security, emergency, etc.) are staffed adequately and performing their duties.

Monitor and manage hospital facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and availability of required equipment.

Handle shift-related administrative tasks including logging incidents, maintaining records, and preparing reports for the day shift management.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Patient Care Management
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and their families during the night shift.

Address patient concerns, complaints, or service-related issues promptly and professionally.
-
Coordinate with the nursing staff to ensure all patients receive appropriate care and attention.

Monitor critical patients and ensure proper escalation to doctors in case of emergencies.
-
Ensure the patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes are followed smoothly at night.
3. Staff Supervision & Coordination
-
Lead and guide nursing, support, and security staff during night operations.

Assign tasks and ensure workload is managed effectively.

Handle staffing adjustments in case of absences or emergencies.

Encourage teamwork and resolve any conflicts or issues among staff.
4. Emergency Response & Incident Management
-
Act as the hospital’s decision-maker during emergencies in the absence of senior management.

Coordinate with on-call doctors, ambulance services, and emergency care units when needed.

Document all incidents, emergencies, and critical events accurately for review by day management.

Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including fire safety and security checks.
5. Administrative & Reporting Duties
-
Maintain night shift records including patient status, staff attendance, and incidents.

Prepare end-of-shift handover reports for the incoming shift in the morning.

Ensure that hospital resources (medicines, supplies, and equipment) are used efficiently and replenish stock when required.
