Applications are invited from the eligible candidates, for filling up the various posts on contract basis in the Ministry of Women & Child Development funded project titled “National Initiative & Integrated Resource for Child Protection, Mental Health, and Psychosocial Care”, under Dr. Shekhar Seshadri, Sr. Prof. Dept. of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and PI.
1. Name of the Post: Project Officer – Child Protection Theme
2. No. of Post: 02
3. Essential Qualifications:
a. Masters’ degree in Social Work/Psychology.
b. At least 3 years’ experience (post to essential qualification) in directly working with children, with a minimum of 1 year working in state child protection systems and/or child care institutions.
c. Strong understanding of the structure and workings of the child protection system, including knowledge of child laws applicable in the protection system, namely juvenile justice and child sexual abuse laws.
d. Knowledge of protection risks and emotional and behavioural consequences of children in vulnerable circumstances.
e. Training experience in child protection-related issues (such as with child protection functionaries).
f. Knowledge of research methodology, including the ability to conceptualize research studies.
g. Evidence of written work and documentation in the area of child mental health, and protection.
h. Strong English oral and written skills, with experience in coordinating and communicating with government and other systems/agencies.
i. Good working knowledge of oral Hindi and/or Kannada.
j. Willingness to travel within the country.
4. Desired knowledge/skills: PhD in Social Work/Psychology. - Experience in providing psychosocial interventions for vulnerable children in state child protection systems. - Oral/ working knowledge of at least 1 (Indian) regional language. - Experience and ability to develop social media/awareness materials. - Published papers in the area of child protection and/ or psychosocial care.
5. Emoluments/ Salary: Rs.90,000/- per month (Consolidated)
6. Duration of the Post: 1 year (Initial appointment will be made for a period of six months and extendable based on the performance of the candidate)

a. Masters’ degree in Social Work/Psychology/Special Education.
b. At least 3 years experience (post to essential qualification) in directly working with children, with a minimum of 1 year working in school settings.
c. Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, including signs, symptoms and diagnostic criteria.
d. Knowledge and skills in therapeutic methods used with children and adolescents, particularly in school counselling settings.
e. Training experience in child mental health-related issues (with teachers/school counsellors/special educators/parents).
f. Knowledge of research methodology, including the ability to conceptualize research studies.
g. Evidence of written work and documentation in the area of child mental health, education and protection.
h. Strong English oral and written skills, with experience in coordinating and communicating with government and other systems/agencies.
i. Good working knowledge of oral Hindi and/or Kannada.
j. Willingness to travel within the country.
4. Desired knowledge/skills:
PhD in Social Work/Psychology/Special Education - Experience working with children and teachers in government education systems. - Experience in working with children with disability (including areas of remedial education and inclusive education). - Oral/ working knowledge of at least 1 (Indian) regional language. - Experience and ability to develop social media/awareness materials. - Published papers in the area of child mental health/education/protection

e. Training experience in child mental health-related issues (with counsellors/mental health professionals/parents).
f. Knowledge of research methodology, including the ability to conceptualize research studies.
g. Evidence of written work and documentation in the area of child mental health, and protection.
h. Strong English oral and written skills, with experience in coordinating and communicating with government and other systems/agencies.
i. Good working knowledge of oral Hindi and/or Kannada.
j. Willingness to travel within the country.
4. Desired knowledge/skills:
