National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) invites application for the position PDRA, Epigenetics (UR)
No of Post: 01
Essential Qualifications: PhD in Genetics/Human Genetics/Microbiology/Biochemistry associated life sciences. Prior experience in Genomics supported with relevant publications
Desirable: Minimum 2 years of experience in handling large genomic and epigenetics data analysis
Nature of duties: Is expected to co-ordinate the entire work flow of biological sample collection, analysis, QCs and data reporting. Is expected to standardize the required assays for epigenetic analysis Is expected to set up internal and external quality control systems Collection, processing and storage of samples with identification systems Monitoring and reporting the analysis on a day to day basis Preparation of electronic reports in excel or other relevant software for epigenetic analysis
Salary: Rs.65,000/- fixed without any allowances
Tenure: 1 year
Place of work: NIN and travel to field site located at a distance of 15-20km from NIN
Age Limit: 35 - 45 years.

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a 'Deficiency Disease Enquiry' and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged 'Nutrition Research Laboratories' (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
