Job Description

Admission to Ph.D. and M.S. (By Research) programmes

Eligibility Ph.D: A Post Graduate (P.G) degree in a relevant discipline in the above mentioned schools with at least 55% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks shall be 50% (or equivalent CGPA).

An M.S (By Research) or M. Phil degree in a relevant discipline in the above mentioned schools. Mariners with Master / MEO Class I Certificates of Competencies or PGDMOM qualifications with 2 years of continuous teaching experience at degree level at IMU / IMU Affiliated Institutes /DG(S) approved institutes.

The eligibility criteria for admission to the M.S (By Research) Programmes shall be an Under Graduate (U.G) degree in a relevant discipline in the above mentioned schools with at least 55% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), except in the case of Mariners for whom a Master/ MEO Class I Certificate of Competency would suffice. For SC/ ST candidates, the minimum marks shall be 50% (or equivalent CGPA).

Admissions to both the programmes will be through an Entrance Test consisting of Entrance Test (Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Essay Test, both will be conducted on the same day) followed by Interview.The Subject for Entrance Test will be in the School preferred by the candidate in his / her application form. Candidates are advised to choose the School for their Research wisely, as request for change of the School will not be entertained.

The total duration of Entrance Test [Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Essay Test] will be 3 hrs. It will be held on Saturday, 19th January 2019 between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM. at the following IMU Campuses :

Visakhapatnam: Indian Maritime University, Visakhapatnam Campus,Gandhigram, Visakhapatnam - 530 005.

The Application Fee : Fee for General is Rs. 1,500/- and for SC/ST Categories is Rs. 1,000/-. The amount will be paid online through Net Banking / Credit Card at the time of filling in the online form. No other forms of payment will be entertained. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
