Job Description

Admission to Ph.D. Programme 2017 (October Session: Full Time /Part Time candidates)

Broad Research Areas: Include but not limited to public health microbiology incl. surveillance of infectious diseases, Molecular epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance etc.

Eligibility : Candidates having Master's degree (M.Sc) from a recognized university (securing not less than 60% marks for general category candidates and not less than 55% for SC/ST/PWD (Person with Disability) candidates in all major examinations from higher secondary (10 + 2) onwards or equivalent in CGPA) in Microbiology/ Medical Lab technology/ Biotechnology or equivalent and valid fellowship such as CSIR-UGC (NET) JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF etc. can apply.

Age Limit: 28 years

Fee : Rs.500 drawn by means of D.D. in favour of “The Registrar, University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai -600 005”.

Selection Procedure: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their applications, and called for a personal discussion/ interview. If the number of candidates exceeds 20, an entrance exam (MCQ) will be conducted to shortlist applicants for the interview. Applicants with valid fellowship awards will be exempt from entrance exam.
