School of Engineering invites applications for admission to various areas in PhD/MS (by
Research) programs for the semester commencing in January2018.

Mechanical Engineering (Select Mechanical Engineeringunder main area)
1. Mechanical Design :B. Tech (Mechanical / Aerospace /Production Engineering) + M. Tech (Machine Design or related areas)
2. Fluid Thermal : B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) + M. Tech (Fluid /Thermal Science)
3. Manufacturing : B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering) + M.Tech ( Mechanical/Production/Production and Industrial / Welding / Material Science/Metallurgy and related areas)
Civil Engineering (SelectCivil Engineeringunder main area).
1. Earthquake Engineering
Eligibility: B. Tech (Civil Engineering) + M.Tech with specialization in the areas related to Structural Engineering / Earthquake Engineering or equivalent
2. Geotechnical Engineering
Eligibility:B. Tech (Civil Engineering) + M.Tech in areas related to Geotechnical Engineering.
3. Ground Water and Water Resource Management
Eligibility:B. Tech (Civil/Agricultural/ Environmental Engineering) M. Tech in areas related to Water Resources, Agriculture, Environmental and Groundwater.
4. Remote Sensing and GIS
Eligibility:M.Tech/M.Sc. (NET mandatory for M.Sc.) in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Geology/ Glaciology/ related subjects/ or equivalent on the discretion of Supervisor.

Eligibility: B. Tech (Civil / Mechanical Engineering) +

1. Materials - 1 M. Sc (Chemistry, Biological Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Nanomaterial, Nano Technology) +Valid GATE/NET score. First class (>= 60% or 6.5 CGPA)in UG and PG or M. Tech (Material Science And Engineering and allied fields). First class (>= 60% or 6.5 CGPA) in UG and PG
2. Materials - 2 B. Tech (Mechanical) + M.Tech. (Materials/Metallurgy/Nanotechnology/Ceramic)
M.S. (by Research)Programs .Mechanical Engineering (SelectMechanical Engineeringunder main area)
1 Manufacturing: B. Tech (Mechanical/ Manufacturing / Production/Production and Industrial Engineering) + Valid GATE score

1 Materials – 2 :B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) + Valid GATE score / GRE Score in appropriate discipline.
Notes: B. E./AMIE / Other Equivalent exams are considered as B. Tech. B. Sc (Science) includes the graduates with science background. M. E. / M. S. (by Research) or other equivalent exams are considered as M. Tech. M. Sc (Science) represents two years Masters after B. Sc (Science). For regular MS, valid GATE score is compulsory. GATE score is not compulsory for PhD (for candidates applying with M. Tech qualification). Valid GATE / JRF / NET score is compulsory for PhD (applying with B. Tech or M. Sc). If you have your grade in CGPA, represent your CGPA out of 10.Candidates applying after B. Tech from IITs and having CGPA greater than or equal to 8.0 can apply for MS/M. Tech / PhD without GATE score.
