Job Description
Ph.D Admissions - 2018-19
Eligibility : Candidates (Indian / Foreigner) who have studied under 10+2+3+2 years or 10+2+5 years or 11+1+3+2 or 10+2+3+3 or 10+2+4+2 pattern of education and qualified for the award of the Master's Degree in the relevant discipline at Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University) (GRI-DU) or any other university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the relevant discipline with not less than 55% marks. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. Candidates should qualify in the entrance test conducted by GRI in accordance with provisions laid down under section 5 of this regulation. Candidates qualified in the UGC - JRF / NET / GATE / CSIR / ICAR / ICSSR or obtained M.Phil in the relevant PG discipline will be allowed to appear for the interview directly.
Value of the Fellowship : The value of the GRIRF shall be Rs.3000/- per month for a period of two years upon the confirmation of PhD. registration. Special provision of Rs.5000/- will be sanctioned to meet the expenditure for preparation of thesis during the third year.
Cost of the application is : Rs.2000
Online Entrance Test can be prefered. If prefered Rs.1000 will be added to the application cost.
