Job Description

NEED A PRE-PRIMARY TEACHER WITH GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN CHILD MANAGMENT.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

    • Designing Lesson Plans: Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum, incorporating play-based learning, art, music, basic literacy, numeracy, and physical activities.

    • Thematic Units: Plan thematic units that allow children to explore subjects such as numbers, letters, animals, nature, seasons, and more.

    • Integrating Learning Activities: Use a variety of educational activities (games, songs, crafts, puzzles, etc.) to engage children and reinforce learning concepts.

  2. Classroom Management:

    • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a warm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.

    • Behavior Management: Use positive reinforcement, patience, and clear boundaries to manage children's behavior and create a respectful atmosphere in the classroom.

    • Safety and Well-being: Ensure that the classroom is safe and secure, and that all children are supervised at all times. Attend to children’s physical needs, such as bathroom visits or basic health concerns.

  3. Child Development and Support:

    • Individual Attention: Observe and assess the progress of each child, providing individualized support for those who may need extra help or attention.

    • Emotional Support: Help children develop emotional and social skills, such as sharing, conflict resolution, and building friendships.

    • Encourage Social Skills: Encourage children to communicate with peers and adults, developing their language and interpersonal skills through group activities and games.

    • Monitor Development: Keep track of children’s development in various areas, including motor skills, language development, cognitive growth, and social behavior.

  4. Communication with Parents and Guardians:

    • Regular Updates: Communicate with parents about their child’s progress, milestones, and any areas of concern.

    • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Organize or participate in regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss the child’s academic and social progress.

    • Encourage Parent Involvement: Involve parents in their child’s learning process by recommending activities they can do at home or by having them participate in school events.

  5. Assessment and Documentation:

    • Record Keeping: Maintain records of children's development, attendance, behavioral progress, and any issues.

    • Assessments: Observe and assess children's skills, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Use both formal and informal methods to evaluate children’s progress.

    • Report Writing: Prepare progress reports for parents and supervisors, highlighting children's growth in key developmental areas.

  6. Teaching and Educational Activities:

    • Language and Literacy: Foster early reading and writing skills through storytelling, rhymes, and letter recognition activities.

    • Numeracy Skills: Introduce basic math concepts like counting, shapes, and simple addition and subtraction through games and hands-on activities.

    • Motor Skills Development: Provide activities that help children develop fine motor skills (e.g., coloring, cutting, building) and gross motor skills (e.g., running, jumping, dancing).

    • Creative Expression: Encourage children’s creativity through activities like drawing, painting, singing, dancing, and role-playing.

  7. Professional Development:

    • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and trends in early childhood education.

    • Training and Workshops: Attend workshops, seminars, and courses to improve teaching skills and develop new teaching strategies.

  8. Health and Hygiene:

    • Promote Hygiene: Teach children the importance of hygiene practices such as washing hands before meals, using tissues, and keeping their environment clean.
