Project Associates Computer Science job opportunities in Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS)
Essential Qualification: i. Degree in Engineering or Technology*, with 60% or above marks or equivalent or ii. Master’s Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) with Science background at Graduation level with 60% or above marks or equivalent. * Computer Science and Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering / Information Technology/ Software Engineering/ Network Security/ Information Security
Desirable Qualifications : Master’s Degree* in relevant Engineering discipline or Technology with 60% or above marks or equivalent Engineering Doctorate in the area of Cyber Security/ Network Security Candidates having certificate course in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH),C-DAC’s PG Diploma (DAC, DESD, DIOT, DITISS) shall have an added advantage. * Computer Science and Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering / Information Technology/ Software Engineering/ Network Security/ Information Security/ Embedded Systems
Areas of Skill sets/ Knowledge required: i. Excellent in Java, J2EE, C, C++, Linux Scripting programming Languages. ii. Excellent Knowledge in databases like MySQL, MongoDB and Redis.iii. Knowledge in Network security domain like Intrusion Detection and Prevention System(IDPS), SIEM( Security Information and Event Management), Traffic Analysis, Data Leakage Monitoring, Mail Filtering, Firewall. iv. Knowledge in IPTables, Proxy and tools like Wireshark, Tcpdump, OSSEC, Splunk , Suricata, etc.. v. Knowledge in Operating System Internals (Linux and Windows Operating System), Kernel configuration and compilation/ LFS(Linux From Scratch.
Work Experience : Candidates with 1 to 5 years of experience in Cyber security/ Network security fields is required.
Remuneration : Consolidated salary would be in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 depending upon the Qualification and years of relevant experience of candidate.
Equivalent work experience in lieu of higher degree for project associate may be considered as follows: Engineering Post-Graduates : Two years Engineering Doctorates: Four Years

SETS is an initiative of the Central Government through the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India. SETS was set up for the purpose of nucleating, sensitising and developing technologies that can protect the information wealth of the country. Such an idea to form a specialized organisation in the area of information security was conceived by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, formerly the Hon’ble President of India and was implemented by Dr. R.Chidambaram from the Office of the PSA. SETS was formally launched by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on June 25, 2002. SETS is the first organisation in India established in the Public-Private Partnership mode to be engaged in information security.
