Applications are invited for the project post mentioned below on contractual basis from the eligible candidates in the prescribed proforma appended.

1. Name of the Project: India Hypertension Control Initiative

2. Name of the post: Project Scientist C (Medical / Non-Medical)

3. No. of posts & Category: 01 (UR)

4. Place of posting: MRHRU, PHC Complex, Sirwar, Raichur, Karnataka

5. Essential Qualification:

For Medical:

i. Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB) after MBBS with one year experience OR Postgraduate diploma in medical subjects after MBBS with two years experience. OR
ii. M.B.B.S degree with 4 years experience in Public health/Community Medicine/ Preventive and Social medicine/ Epidemiology after obtaining MBBS Degree

For Non-Medical:

i. First class Mastersdegree in Public Health/Epidemiology with four years experience in relevant field. OR 
ii. Second class Mastersdegree in Public Health/Epidemiology with PhD with four years experience in relevant field. 

6. Desirable Qualification and Experience: For Medical:

i. A Doctorate or a Post Graduate Degree MD//MPH/MAE in Public health/Community Medicine/ Preventive and Social medicine/ Epidemiology / Public Health from a recognized University/ Institute
ii. Additional Post doctoral research/ teaching experience in above subjects in recognized institute(s)
iii. Experience of surveillance activity research, including monitoring and supervision
iv. Knowledge of Computer applications and statistical Packages.
v. Knowledge of Kannada, Telugu and Hindi.

7. For Non-Medical:

i. Working knowledge in the area of disease surveillance and project management. 
ii. Good communication skills: scientific writing as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and official communications.
iii. Knowledge of literature review using reference managers, data handling, analysis, interpretation and report writing. 
iv. Working knowledge of statistical software including SPSS/Stata/R. 
v. Working knowledge of MS Office. 
vi. Knowledge of Kannada, Telugu and Hindi.

8. Notes: For Medical:

i. MD/PhD in the above subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years’ experience.
ii. MPH / MAE / Postgraduate Diploma in above subjects shall be treated equivalent to two years’ experience.
iii. All other things equal, Candidates with proven scientific writing skills & good communication skills in English as evidenced by publications either as Primary or Corresponding Author in peer reviewed international journals will be preferred.
iv. Educational Qualification and Duration of Experience will be relaxed in case of the deserving candidates.
v. Age relaxation is allowable to corresponding years of work experience in the Research Experience in ICMR.
vi. If no suitable candidate is found, the post may be downgraded and filled.

9. Remuneration: For Medical: Consolidated salary of Rs.64,000/- (plus HRA) For Non-Medical: Consolidated salary of Rs.51,000/- (plus HRA)

10. Duration: Initial appointment upto 31st July, 2021(Renewable for the project duration subject to performance and project requirement)

11. Nature of Duty: Training of field staff Visits to all health facilities within the district for supportive supervision Develop research protocols and conduct research studies Data analysis Preparation of reports Meetings with various stakeholders

12. For This Post Non-medical Personnel Will Be Considered Only If Medical Personnel With Required Qualifications Are Not Available / Suitable.
