The Purchase Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Purchase Manager in overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are acquired in a timely, cost-effective manner. The role involves managing relationships with suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the supply chain process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Purchase Manager in managing the procurement and purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms for products and services.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of purchasing budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify procurement needs and develop strategies.
- Ensure timely delivery of products and services to meet operational requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and inventory movements to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Analyze purchase orders and invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Resolve any procurement issues, including delays, discrepancies, and returns.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
- Stay updated on market trends, new products, and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally with managerial experience.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes.
