Job Description
Job Summary
A Quality Control Analyst in the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for conducting chemical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products to ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards. This role involves laboratory analysis, documentation, and reporting to maintain the safety, efficacy, and consistency of pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Conduct chemical and physical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Perform analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, FTIR, and titration.
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory guidelines.
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Verify that pharmaceutical products meet regulatory and company specifications.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Report deviations and assist in investigations related to product quality.
3. Data Recording & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests and results.
- Prepare and review reports, Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and laboratory notebooks.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
4. Instrument Calibration & Maintenance
- Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy.
- Troubleshoot analytical equipment and coordinate with technical teams for maintenance.
- Maintain inventory of lab chemicals and consumables.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in process validation, method development, and stability studies.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, new testing methods, and technological advancements.
