Job Description
The Manager – Fire and Safety is responsible for creating, implementing, and continually improving the Health and Safety policy across all TeamLease locations. This role ensures a safe, healthy, and secure workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors, while ensuring compliance with the Shops and Establishment Act and other applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Governance & Compliance:
Draft, update, and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations as per the Shops and Establishment Act of respective states.
Conduct annual management reviews and ensure the integration of safety policies with ISO 27001 procedures.
Submit policy recommendations to senior management for approval.
Emergency Management:
Coordinate the Emergency Rescue Team (ERT) and ensure they are trained in fire-fighting equipment usage and evacuation procedures.
Oversee the development and execution of emergency evacuation plans for all staff, including specialized guidance for specially-abled employees and pregnant women.
Maintain and display emergency contact numbers (Police, Fire, Hospitals) in designated areas.
Ensure incident reporting protocols are followed during any security or safety-related events.
Operational Safety & Workplace Environment:
Conduct risk assessments for workplace hazards (e.g., slipping/tripping hazards, fire risks, electrical safety).
Monitor workplace environment standards, including temperature control, ventilation, lighting, and air quality.
Oversee facility maintenance, including pest control, housekeeping, and the proper maintenance of equipment.
Ensure first aid kits are fully stocked and accessible at all times.
