Job Description
Arabic Localization Specialist
Duties: ServiceNow University (SNU) is expanding its Arabic-language learning experience to support KSA market growth and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals. This full-time contractor role is the human Arabic-language layer of the GLD localization team — ensuring that translated content is accurate, culturally appropriate, RTL-compliant, and publication-ready.
This is not a translation role. Our primary vendor (Argos) handles translation. This role validates that work, manages QA, and bridges communication with Arabic-speaking partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Arabic Translation QA & Validation
Review and validate Arabic translations against the ServiceNow Arabic glossary, flagging terminology errors, mistranslations, and unnatural phrasing before content goes live.
Validate Arabic captions for accuracy, correct RTL formatting, proper timing alignment, and character length compliance (max 42 characters per caption line).
Maintain and expand the Arabic glossary as a living document, ensuring consistent terminology across all KSA courses.
Serve as the language-fluent reviewer that the GLD team currently lacks — providing the read-comprehension layer that goes beyond visual formatting checks.
RTL QA & Technical Review
Perform RTL quality assurance on all SCORM packages prior to go-live, including HTML structure review (dir=rtl, lang=ar directives), layout validation, and interactive element behavior.
Identify and document layout issues such as mixed-language screens, overlapping navigation elements, accordion/tab directionality errors, and font rendering problems.
Validate that Arabic font renders correctly across all content blocks.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise directly with Argos (translation vendor) in both English and Arabic to communicate feedback, clarify terminology decisions, and align on glossary updates.
Support UAT coordination with KSA regional stakeholders, including Moath's Customer Acceleration team, to gather and consolidate feedback.
Documentation & Process
Document localization workflows, decisions, QA findings, and vendor feedback for knowledge transfer and future course releases.
Maintain organized Arabic project file structure, tracking vendor deliverables by wave and course.
Contribute to process improvements that streamline the Arabic localization workflow across content, captions, and UI.
IC2 Scope Note: This role operates with guidance from the Program Manager. The contractor is expected to optimize tasks independently, identify quality and efficiency improvements, communicate issues clearly, and hold themselves to a high standard of ownership.
Skills: Required
Native or near-native Arabic fluency (Modern Standard Arabic; Saudi dialect a strong plus).
Ability to read, evaluate, and provide feedback on Arabic text for accuracy, tone, and technical terminology — not just formatting.
1–2 years of experience in localization, translation QA, content adaptation, or a related field.
Familiarity with RTL formatting requirements and Arabic script rendering.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle terminology or layout errors.
Clear, professional communication in both English and Arabic.
Technical Skills
Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate RISE 360, Storyline) or willingness to learn quickly.
Basic understanding of SCORM packages and LMS publishing workflows.
Familiarity with caption formats (SRT) and video hosting platforms (e.g., Brightcove).
Comfort working with HTML for RTL formatting validation (dir=rtl, lang=ar, text-align: right).
Preferred Experience
Experience with ServiceNow products or enterprise software terminology in Arabic.
Prior work with translation vendors or multilingual content teams.
Experience supporting UAT or user research with Arabic-speaking participants.
Background in technical documentation, e-learning, or digital content localization.
