Research Associate/ Senior Research Fellow (Bioinformatics) job recruitment in  NBFGR .

Name /No.of Post : Research Associate/ 01

Project : "Development of Brood Bank and establishing hatcheries for commercial seed production of Asian catfish clarias batrachus” (Linn)"

Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Life Science or Zoology or related discipline with experience in Fisheries Science. OR Master’s degree in Fish & Fisheries Science or Zoology or basic science or Life Science with 60% aggregate marks from a recognized university and at least two years research experience, preferably in fisheries.

Desirable: Expertise in catfishes (Pangasius/C. batrachus/Rita etc.) with published research papers and experience in fish biology, taxonomy & good knowledge of computer.

Age : 40 years for male and 45 years for female

Salary : Rs. 40,000/- per month +HRA as per rule

 

Senior Research Fellow (Bioinformatics)/ 02

Project : "Whole genome sequencing and development of allied genomic resources in two commercially important fish-Labeo Rohita and Clarias batrachus".

Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Life Science/Fisheries with NET and two years of research experience. Or Graduate Degree in Professional Course in above subjects with NET and two years of research experience.

Desirable: 1)Working experience in analysis of genome data generated from various NGS platform and good knowledge in computer applications. 2) Research experience in Molecular biology/Genetics and good knowledge in computer applications.

Age : 35 years for male and 40 years for female

Salary : Rs. 28,000/- +HRA

 

Field Assistant/ 01

Project : "Development of Biotechnological Approach for Production of Clarias magur (Hamilton, 1822) Spermatozoa for Aquaculture".

Essential Qualification: Intermediate with Science with one year experience in wet laboratory activities.

Desirable: One year experience in handling experimental fishes.

Age : 35 years for male and 40 years for female

Salary : Rs. 10,000/- fixed

The National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) was established in December 1983 in a rented premises at Allahabad under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research to undertake research related to the conservation of fish germplasm resources of the country. The Bureau’s permanent infrastructure was developed at Canal Ring Road, Telibagh, Lucknow, U.P in 1999 comprising an administrative block, laboratories, farm and residential complex covering an area of 52  acres. The Institute's vision is assessment and conservation of fish genetic resources for intellectual property protection, sustainable utilization and posterity.
