Research Scientist-II (Medical) Or Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)/01 Post

Research Scientist-II (Medical)

Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in Microbiology with minimum two years R&D / teaching experience in Microbiology/Virology from recognized university.

Desirable:

i. Additional Post- doctoral research / training experience in viral outbreak diagnosis as evidenced by scientific publication.

ii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management.

Notes:

i. Candidates shall be recruited as Research Scientist I (Medical) after requisite training under Talent Search Scheme as per Schedule-IV.

Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

Essential Qualifications:Ph.D. in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology /Molecular Biology/ Life Science. or First class master’s degree(M.Sc./ M.Tech) in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Life science with the relevant subjects from a recognized university with 05 years research experience in the relevant subject after 1st class masters degree. or 2 nd class M. Sc. + Ph.D degree in relevant subject from a recognized university.

Desirable:

i. Ph.D. candidates with research thesis work on infectious diseases supported by at least three original research publication in PUBMED indexed journal will be given preferences.

ii. Any Post -doctoral research / past experience in Viral infectious disease diagnosis, epidemiological studies will be given preference.

iii. Working experience of tissue culture / virus harvesting / cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker.

iv. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic analysis software, Business Intelligence tools, Data Management. Working knowledge of molecular bioinformatic tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing, phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred.

1. Master’s degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology / Bioinformatics / Life Science from a recognized university.

2. Three year experience in Viral disease/ Infectious disease diagnosis.

Desirable:

i. Research / training experience in Viral Diagnosis / Infectious disease outbreak diagnosis / field experience of sample collection and transport in viral disease outbreak.

ii. Working experience of tissue culture (virus isolation) / cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker.

iii. At least two original research publications (Published/ accepted) in PUBMED indexed journal will be given preferences.

Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Life Science. Or 12th with diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. With minimum two years of working in a diagnostic/research laboratory

Desirable: More working experience in clinical microbiology laboratory testing.
