Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service & Engagement

Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout their shopping experience.

Understand customer needs and make personalized product recommendations.

Provide detailed information about gourmet products, including ingredients, origin, usage, and storage.

Offer tastings or samples (when available) and promote new arrivals or seasonal items.
2. Sales Generation
-
Proactively drive in-store sales by meeting and exceeding daily sales targets.

Upsell and cross-sell complementary products to enhance customer purchases.
-
Keep track of popular items and customer preferences to tailor future suggestions.

Handle billing and cash/card transactions accurately at the POS terminal.
3. Product Knowledge & Training
-
Stay updated on the full range of gourmet products offered – cheeses, meats, condiments, chocolates, beverages, imported groceries, etc.

Attend product training sessions to learn about new launches, culinary pairings, and health benefits.
-
Share knowledge about gourmet cooking techniques, recipes, or usage tips with customers.
4. Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation
-
Assist with setting up attractive product displays, signage, and shelf arrangements.
-
Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.

Monitor product expiry dates, pricing tags, and proper labeling in compliance with health and safety standards.
5. Inventory & Stock Management
-
Assist with daily stock checks, replenishing shelves, and reporting low-stock items to the store manager.

Unpack, inspect, and store incoming shipments with care, especially perishable items.
-
Support inventory audits and coordinate with the backend team for restocking.
6. Promotions & Loyalty Programs
-
Inform customers about ongoing promotions, loyalty programs, or discount schemes.
-
Help with the implementation of festive offers, themed displays, or event-based marketing inside the store.

Encourage repeat visits through excellent service and follow-ups.
7. Communication & Team Collaboration
-
Work closely with store team members, chefs (if applicable), and management for smooth store operations.
-
Communicate customer feedback and suggestions for product improvement.
-
Attend regular team meetings, participate in performance reviews, and align with store sales goals.
