Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and goal-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our sales team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing daily sales operations, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
This role involves overseeing a team of sales executives or representatives, working closely with marketing and customer service teams, and reporting performance to senior management. The position requires leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to motivate and manage a dynamic sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with the organization’s overall objectives.

Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitor activity to identify business opportunities.

Set short-term and long-term sales goals for the team and create action plans to achieve them.

Forecast sales volumes and revenue; manage sales pipelines accordingly.
2. Team Leadership and Development:

Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of sales executives or territory managers.

Set clear individual and team performance goals and monitor progress regularly.

Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans.

Organize product knowledge sessions, sales workshops, and motivation activities.
3. Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Resolve high-level client issues and ensure client satisfaction across all touchpoints.

Represent the company at client meetings, trade shows, networking events, and product launches.
4. Sales Execution and Monitoring:

Ensure the team effectively follows the sales process from lead generation to closing.

Track sales metrics (e.g., conversion rates, average deal size, sales cycle length) and report KPIs.

Review sales calls, proposals, and contracts for consistency, accuracy, and professionalism.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and ethical sales practices.
5. Collaboration and Reporting:

Work closely with marketing to align campaigns, promotions, and product positioning.

Collaborate with product, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

Submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and dashboards to senior leadership.
6. Market Intelligence:

Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, new product launches, and competitive analysis.

Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to refine offerings and strategies.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.

MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum years of proven experience in sales, with at least some years in a leadership role is an advantage.

Experience in FMCG, Banking, SaaS, Real Estate, Insurance, Telecom, etc. is an advantage.
