Job Description

Monitor and control access to the hospital premises.

Conduct regular security checks and patrols.

Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

Respond to emergencies and security incidents promptly.

Report any suspicious activities or security breaches.

Assist in managing crowd control and directing visitors.

Maintain logs and records of security-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surveillance and Monitoring:

Patrol Facility: Regularly patrol the hospital premises, including entrances, parking lots, and internal areas to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure safety.
Monitor Security Systems: Operate and monitor security equipment, such as CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems to prevent unauthorized access and detect potential threats.
Report Suspicious Activity: Immediately report any suspicious activity, security breaches, or incidents to the relevant authorities or the security supervisor.

2. Access Control:

Manage Access Points: Ensure proper access control by checking the credentials of staff, patients, and visitors entering the hospital. Issue visitor badges and verify identification when necessary.
Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that only authorized individuals have access to restricted areas, such as staff-only zones, operation theaters, and storage rooms.

3. Emergency Response:

Respond to Emergencies: Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security incidents, by following established emergency procedures.
Assist in Evacuation: In the case of emergencies, assist in evacuating patients, staff, and visitors safely while adhering to safety protocols.
First Aid: If trained, provide basic first aid or assist in medical emergencies until medical staff arrive.

4. Visitor and Staff Assistance:

Provide Assistance: Assist staff, patients, and visitors by providing directions, answering basic inquiries, and offering support when needed.
Monitor Parking Areas: Supervise parking areas, ensuring vehicles are parked in designated spots, and address any concerns related to unauthorized parking.

5. Preventive Security Measures:

Regular Checks: Conduct regular checks on hospital windows, doors, and gates to ensure they are secure and not tampered with.
Equipment Maintenance: Report any malfunctioning security equipment to the relevant department for repair or maintenance.
Fire and Safety Equipment Checks: Ensure that fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and other emergency equipment are accessible and in working order.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain Logs: Keep accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, visitor entry/exit, and any unusual occurrences.
Incident Reporting: Document and report any incidents, accidents, or breaches in security, ensuring that all information is detailed and timely.
Shift Handover: Ensure a smooth handover of security-related tasks and information to the next shift through detailed reports.

7. Collaboration with Medical and Administrative Staff:

Coordinate with Staff: Work closely with hospital staff, including the medical team, administration, and management, to ensure smooth operations and a safe environment for everyone.
Security Meetings: Attend regular security meetings, briefings, and training sessions as required.
