Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
-
Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, fans, and piping systems.

Troubleshoot breakdowns and carry out root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
-
Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, and calibration of moving machinery.
2. Equipment Installation & Commissioning
-
Assist in the installation, assembly, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment and systems.
-
Ensure mechanical alignment, torque settings, vibration testing, and safety checks are performed according to standards.
3. HT 6 & LT 2 Mechanical System Handling
-
Work with mechanical systems rated under HT 6 (High Tension up to 6 kV) and LT 2 (Low Tension up to 240V), including machinery driven by HT motors, turbines, and heavy-duty compressors.

Support electrical teams during HT-related mechanical isolation, lockout/tagout, and safety protocols.

Monitor and maintain auxiliary mechanical systems associated with HT equipment such as oil cooling units, fans, and hydraulic control systems.
4. Compliance & Safety
-
Follow all safety procedures, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), and work permit systems for mechanical work.

Adhere to national and international safety standards such as OSHA/ISO/IS standards for mechanical operations.

Ensure that all tools and instruments are calibrated and in good condition.
5. Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, machine history, part replacements, and downtime reports.

Prepare shift handover notes, service reports, and update checklists/logbooks.
-
Assist in developing SOPs and maintenance procedures.
6. Team Supervision & Support
-
Guide and mentor junior technicians or apprentices in executing maintenance tasks.

Coordinate with other teams including electrical, instrumentation, and operations for smooth job execution.

Support emergency maintenance and shutdown activities with technical leadership.
