Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION – SERVICE SUPPORT ENGINEER – CNC MACHINES (Co2 & FIBER LASER CUTTING AND MARKING, ROUTER, OSCILLATING KNIFE CUTTING MACHINES)
A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machinery at client locations. The role combines technical expertise with customer service to ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably, minimizing downtime for customers.
Summary
- Role: The Service Engineer role is to handle all service-related activities for supplied CNC equipment.
- Key Skills: This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems, excellent diagnostic abilities, and superior communication skills.
- Travel: Most positions are field-based, requiring frequent travel to customer sites.
Core responsibilities
Installation and commissioning
- Setup: Install and set up new CNC machines at customer sites, ensuring accurate positioning, levelling, and calibration.
- Integration: Integrate the new equipment with the customer's existing systems and infrastructure.
- Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing to confirm the machine operates according to manufacturer specifications.
Maintenance and repair
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
- Breakdowns: Respond to and efficiently resolve technical issues from service calls.
- Preventive maintenance: Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend the equipment's operational life.
- Repairs: Repair or replace faulty components, such as machine tools, electrical systems, or PLC components.
Customer support and training
- Provide technical assistance, including training clients on machine operation, programming, and maintenance. Assistance can be provided on-site, over the phone, or via email, and may include helping with software updates and control system modifications.
Documentation and reporting
- Maintain detailed service records and provide feedback to internal teams regarding machine performance and customer needs.
Qualifications and skills
Education and experience
- A relevant diploma or bachelor's degree is typically required, along with experience in servicing and troubleshooting CNC machinery.
Technical skills
- Essential technical skills include understanding CNC control systems, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for various technical issues, the capacity to interpret technical documents, and hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
Soft skills
- Key soft skills involve effective communication and interpersonal skills, a focus on customer satisfaction, strong problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to work independently and manage time well.
Compensation Package
Fresher
Ø 3 Months OJT with INR 10,000 per Month (CTC) as Stipend with Bond 18 Months
Ø Post Completion of OJT – INR 15,000(CTC) per Months
Experienced (1 Year + from same or similar field)
Ø INR 20,000(CTC) per Month
